I realize how faux pas the accusation is-- nearly as much as casual use of the term faux pas --but someone needed to officially say it. Apparently you were unaware.
A self-aware racist doesn't need to debate whether or not recent Arizona legislation is racist, because if you even have to ask, you're not ready. As clearly stated in "In Defense of Arizona's Education Law", written by Forbes.com contributor Melik Kaylan:

Freedom of Speech, but Money Talks
Aside from being caricatured as a gun waving Uncle Yosemite Sam, there are other reasons American politics are watched closely all across the world. Specifically, the world is interested in the decision makers. While pundits debate if the health of American citizens is worth the cost, the Supreme Court of the United States is protecting the rights of corporations. In a landmark decision, corporate campaign contributions have become synonymous with the freedom of speech.

The citizens of America need to hold their leaders responsible- their corporate leaders.
We decided to name our system of elected leaders- also know as a republic -"Democracy", and based the monetary system around what ends up a capitalistic model. In that sense, why do you return to a communist or socialist model when it comes to aid? If the Government is too corrupt or incapable of handling vital industries*, or such would be a dreadful state of oppression/Russia, why do we look at the Government when it is time to for aid?

I suspect as Hydrogen bombs start trending, so will mini, digital doomsday clocks. In fact, there may already be an app for that.

Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC's Hardball, attempted to compliment Obama's unilateral leadership appeal by stating "I almost forgot he was black for an hour."
The problem is, Obama is black. Matthews' statement only mirrors the white supremacist mentality that has become America's legacy. That legacy is highlighted in the question: "What does it mean to remember he is black?"

Yesterday in the airport, two men, a white South African and a black Nigerian, are overheard discussing their views on America- views decided, naturally, by how one regards the 'American blacks'. Racist readers will be happy to know there are at least two less immigrants threatening to 'take yer jobs'.

Church & Hate
The Catholic Church has given Washington D.C. an ultimatum. The letter, sent by the Archdiocese, is a threat to stop helping the 1/3rd of Washington D.C.'s homeless currently receiving social services if they pass same-sex marriage legislation. Morally questionable or not, this move is good for us all.
The line separating church and state is long overdue for redrawing. The Vatican, which operates as it's own independent nation, should not be writing US policy- at least not without Americans referring to the Pope as Supreme Leader or Ayatollah. In this Democracy, citizen elected leaders are meant to create the policy.

A clause protecting government contractors if employees rape each other has met strong partisan opposition in the senate. Republicans admittedly voted against the "Anti-Rape Bill" to protect Halliburton. No need to check the polarity of your moral compass, when your stance is against rape victims, you may need to rethink your position. Unfortunately this vote was not spotlighted on any major news outlet, offline or on.
